Violin Restorer Brian Epp

This is a very interesting show I did with violin restorer Brian Epp of Bethel, CT. We cover many of the areas of his work, in how he goes through the process of restoring a violin.

Brian Epp is a violin restorer who restores and repairs violins, violas, cellos and basses. He receives instruments that need restoring from people all over the country who find him through his website. Locally, he welcomes performers and students into his shop who have need of repairs. During the school year, orchestra teachers in the area host Mr. Epp, who gives lively motivational presentations to students in which he explains how bowed instruments are made, how they create sound, and they should be cared for.

Brian Epp’s specialty is retouching the finish on damaged bowed instruments. He receives many “attic heirloom” violins that have sentimental value to individuals and families, who need complete restoration of their treasured violins. He has owned his own violin restoration business for seven years. His training included studying with restorers and attending advanced restoration classes at the Violin Craftsmanship Institute at New Hampshire University.

Cincinnati Bengals Asst. Offensive Line Coach Bob Surace

Since the time that I started the program about eleven years ago, I have done many shows on football and the National Football League.

For some time, I have been covering the football program at the local university, Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) and one of their past head coaches, Bob Surace was on the show four times.

He was hired by the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals to coach the offensive line. He has continued to do shows with me over the years and these have been over the telephone because he was never nearby.

He had one time done the show with me from a hotel room in Washington, DC, as the Bengals were getting ready to play a pre-season game against the Washington Redskins.

This year, Coach Surace gave me call and told me that he was going to be in the area and that he could do the show this year in person.

So this year’s NFL season preview was done by the seven year NFL coach in person, in studio and it was fantastic!

So thank you coach Surace for stopping by to talk with me and the viewers in person. Good luck in the upcoming 2007 – 2008 NFL season.

The Deanna Mitchell Band

Recently, we had on the program, up and coming country group, The Deanna Michell Band.
The taping went really well and they sounded great!

They used a copy of this show to send off to The Great American Band Search, which is going to be an American Idol show for bands.

So enjoy the show! My crew and I did!
